Well Tea began in late 2010, in a small flat in London. Inspired by our travels, we dreamed of creating more than just a tea brand — we wanted to craft a space that felt like a second home, where people could relax, work, catch up, and share meaningful moments over a truly exceptional cup of tea. During our journeys, we were naturally drawn to the warm, inviting atmospheres of independent cafes, coffee shops, and studios. To this day, these spaces remain a source of inspiration whenever we travel, both near and far.

We set out to capture the essence of those welcoming environments — the sense of community, connection, and calm — in everything we created. Initially, we imagined opening a boutique space dedicated to ethically sourced, single-origin teas and herbal blends. But the reality of nearly three years of lockdowns in the UK hospitality sector reshaped our plans. Instead, we focused our energy on crafting something tangible: specialty teas that could inspire, energize, and bring a touch of joy to anyone’s day. From our kitchen, we began designing, sourcing, and blending — and thus, Well Tea was born.

In the early days, we shared just a handful of blends with friends, gradually moving online and attending local events whenever opportunities arose during lockdowns. We soon realized that while the market was dominated by coffee, tea offered a world of untapped potential. What started as a personal passion evolved into a mission: to bring our carefully curated infusions into the very spaces that had inspired us. From enjoying tea in the cafes we admired, we found ourselves seeing our blends served there, connecting with communities in the ways we had always dreamed.
