Description

This herbal tea presents a wonderful floral display of yellow chrysanthemums which spread like petals from a flowering plant when brewed in a glass teapot.

Gongiu Dried Chrysanthemum Tea has a delicate and a bit flowery scent, plus a taste that is lighting and relaxing, it’s no surprise that chrysanthemum tea is experienced for centuries. It has been experienced in China for centuries. Chrysanthemum is usually the national floral of Asia.

Gongiu Dried Chrysanthemum Herbal Tea is also drunk in China for its natural virtues.

Chrysanthemum tea is a flower-based tisane made from chrysanthemum flowers of the species Chrysanthemum morifolium or Chrysanthemum Indicum, which are most popular in East Asia. Tribute Chrysanthemum (Gongju) is the most popular.  It can be taken with sugar or honey, or simply drink plain. Enjoy this wonderful flower and add it to your daily organic, caffein free and sugar-free drink.

Appearance: White petal, small yellow in center, even size of each flower, soft and fragrant

BREWING INSTRUCTION:

THE WATER TEMPERATURE

  • The golden rule about water temperature is never to use boiling water on the tea, whatever kind of tea you are making.
  • Herbal Teas require water at 90°C and black teas require water at 85-90°C.

THE AMOUNT OF TEA

  • Custom dictates that 4 grams are sufficient for one cup. But the amount is partly a matter of preference.
  • In the case of Assam tea, which is naturally very robust, you might want to reduce the strength and brew 3 grams instead of 4.

THE BREWING TIME

  • Herbal tea takes 3-4 minutes, Black teas are normally brewed for 2-3 minutes, green teas for 3 – 4 minutes. It is a good idea to check the brewing time before making the tea because some teas need to be infused for very specific times: for example, Jade Pearl is left to infuse for 7 – 20 minutes, whilst Oolong tea will need 5 – 7 minutes for its bouquet to develop fully.
