Description
Japan has a long proud history of producing some of the richest tasting tea leaves in the world. If you’ve never experienced Japanese tea before then your taste buds will thank you for adding a Gyokuro Green tea bag to your mug.
Gyokuro Green tea is renowned for being one of the highest quality tea bags available. Before it reaches you in tea bag form, we steam Gyokuro Green tea leaves for a long period of time before drying them with microwave drying technology. This process ensures the aroma is locked in after it’s been picked and you can enjoy the same rich and deep roasted flavour as though the leaves have only just been plucked.
Our Gyokuro Green Tea is supplied in specially designed triangular tea bags made from a special nylon material. These larger than normal tea bags protect the tea leaves from both excessive heat and cold temperatures. When the leaves are plucked they are also trimmed shorter so that they release the flavour quickly when combined with near boiling water. So whether you wish to enjoy our Gyokuro Green Tea in a mug on its own or in a pot with friends, you can enjoy a wonderful introduction to the proud tradition of Japanese tea by enjoying a cup of Gyokuro Green tea.

This fresh, full-bodied, grassy green tea was just what I was hoping for! Absolutely delicious! And one serving can be used 2 or 3 times throughout the day.

Good Umami flavour, great fluorescent green colour, taste kind of like a deep steamed sencha with the bolder gyokuro i was expecting, overall really nice, I would love to see how the other flushes taste.

Searched high, low and around the globe. This is a great tea. I never underestimate the effort it takes to produce a fine Gyokuro. Priced perfect and quality much better than expected. I don’t have to buy direct from Japan. Shipment on time as always. Thank you.

As a Chinese, I drink green tea every day, there are different types of green tea, Gyokuro” is my favourite. This Japanese tea is not like regular green tea with a bitter taste, it with a bit of sweet and flavour. The reason is about 3 weeks ago before the tea leaves been cut off, tea farmer will use some material like a cover in front of whole tea trees to block the sunshine onto tea leaves, the tea is lack of sunshine burn that the tannin in tea leaves is less, that’s why the unique flavour comes out.
I’m happy that there are so many people like Gyokuro. Gyokuro is premium green tea, much expensive than Sencha. Green tea is never cheap even in China and Japan.
Another thing regarding Gyokuro and Sencha. I won’t talk about Chinese tea here lol. if makes Sencha, the hot water can be around 70 or 80 degrees, but for Gyokuro, which should be made more gentle, please use cooler hot water, no more than 60c, otherwise, the taste will change, the sweetie will gone. Also, Gyokuro can be made by water even with ice, just put the leaves into water and wait for 6 hours or more, it’s possible to enjoy the cold tea, we call it Mitzu dashi ”’. Please enjoy it. This is the best and true Gyokuro taste : )

I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my husband, who loves quality teas. He loved this one and said that it is the best green tea that he has ever had and that is saying a lot because I have bought him hundreds of different teas over the years, good and bad.
