This tea provides a beautiful tea decorated with petals combined with shreds of coconut and the green mate herb from South America. Green mate herb is traditionally drunk on its own in a mug with hot water to create a spicy drink. Some drinkers like to add sugar or honey, but we’ve created a concoction of our own. What we’ve done is create a tea which combines this herb with Green Sencha from Japan, coconut shreds, blossoms from roses and cornflower and some mild flavouring to create a tea that’s filled with colour and offers a distinctly spicy taste mixed with the soft undertones of mild coconut.
Green mate is very popular in its native Latin America, particularly in Argentina, Bolivia, southern Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay. Drinking a cup is a deeply social occasion, with it normally drunk at social gatherings with family and friends. Our Green Mate Coconut Tea can also be the centrepiece of your own tea breaks shared with friends. It can add a sense of occasion to the day and your friends are guaranteed to be impressed by its mix of spicy green mate and soothing coconut.
In South America green mate is typically brewed in a calabash metal gourd and then drunk through a straw. But our Green Mate Coconut Tea can just as easily be brewed in a normal tea pot and still retain its rich spicy flavour and aroma. We recommend a brewing time of 2-3 minutes for enjoying this uniquely Latin America tea.
